I can’t believe I forgot to share this! At the beginning of the month Nova Scotia rug hooking artist Laura Kenney published her list of Ten Rug Hookers to Watch in 2016. What a thrill to find myself on the list! All of those on the list are people I follow and each of whom is extremely talented. Check it out here:
I’ve also realized that I’m not sure my email notification to let you know when I publish new posts is working. I’m looking into it!
Hard to believe the holidays are over already! The highlights for me are always Christmas Eve when we do our traditional fondue dinner, Christmas morning seeing everyone open all their presents and New Year’s Eve when we try to do something a little different and special to welcome in the new year.
Now that the celebrations are over, I’ve been back to work on panel #3. I’ll post some progress photos of it soon. I’ve also been going through my inventory of work that is available for purchase and will start posting some of it here off and on in the coming weeks. If any of the pieces interest you, just send me an email! 🙂 As a friend pointed out to me, if you are in the US this is a great time to pick up some deals since the Canadian dollar is so, so low!
The first as seen above is “Icebergs on the Horizon”: 7″ x 5″ (matted and framed to 10″ x 8″). Designed and hooked by me using a variety of yarns. $80.00 CAD plus shipping if you are outside of the Ottawa area.
“Autumn Trees”: 5″ x 7″ (matted and framed to 8″ x 10″). Designed and hooked by me using cotton yarn and strips of leather. $50.00 CAD plus shipping if you are outside of the Ottawa area.
“Sunset on the Rock”: 7″ x 5″ (matted and framed to 10″ x 8″). Designed and hooked by me using a variety of yarns. $80.00 CAD plus shipping if you are outside of Ottawa.
I hope everyone had a fantastic holiday season. I have lots of things planned for this year that I will share with you as the weeks and months progress. 2016 will see me finish my six panel piece. And I have lots of new ideas that came off of some of the work that I did for my solo exhibit last August that I am looking forward to exploring this year!
